Essentially the same technology used by Audi in its R8 race cars, the GTI's one-two punch of direct injection and turbocharger creates a powerplant that is fuel efficient, highly responsive, and most important, powerful. With a relatively high compression ratio of 10.5:1, the GTI's heart pumps out 200 horsepower at 5100 rpm and 207 pound-feet of torque at just 1800. Power delivery is silky smooth and instantaneous. Professionally Stage 1 Performance Tuning adds 52-hp boost, the new engine programming gave us a shocking 96 lb-ft of additional torque.
